How to Set Your Spring Table for Dinner

We are all awaiting the arrival of Spring. This past winter seems to have gone by quite quickly considering the cold winds and the long snowy days and nights. Today, I thought I would share with you my How to Set Your Spring Table for Dinner ideas!

A quicker winter season doesn’t mean that we are not excited to feel the warm spring breeze, see the greenery of our vegetable gardens sprouting here and there, and the pretty and sweet smell of our rosebuds blooming in our front garden beds.  As a matter of fact, it cannot come soon enough for me.

I’m excited to sprinkle some sunshine your way by showing you my latest home decor and table-setting ideas before I start to decorate for Easter!

Step-by-Step Spring Table

The first step is to use pretty placemats. For this particular tablescape, I’ve selected a lace placemat as a base layer. You can find the Lace Handmade one HERE

Remember those dresser scarves we would put on our dressers? I still have a few so I’ve opted to layer my ivory lace one over the burgundy striped table runner.

The next step to set your Spring Table is to add a set of beautiful floral or chintz patterned dishes and coordinating striped cloth napkins.  The table runner and napkins match although they did not get purchased together! Both were purchased at Hobby Lobby. I’ve found some similar dishes to the vintage chintz ones I’ve used here and they are linked below

When it comes to patterns, I love mixing them. Don’t be shy when blending textures, and layers which can add interest and beauty to your table styling.  When creating your table decor use items you love and don’t be afraid to think outside of the box. Placemats can be created out of pretty much anything!  Another idea is mixing dish patterns. It is always lovely and yes, you can mix stripes with patterns!

Styling your table doesn’t mean you have to match everything perfectly, although I do love color coordinating all the pieces with each other.

After adding the plates and cups, I’ve added my centerpiece.  I kept this one simple by using a candle ring and a white pillar candle. One on each end of the table on either side of my vintage soup tureen.  I’ve kept it easy and yet it’s already feeling like Spring is around the corner. Lastly, I set the tableware and add some exquisite crystal goblets and stemware. Voila!

I’ll be back soon and sharing my Easter table with you! I’m already looking forward to it!
