Easy Garlic Green Beans with Lime Recipe

My family has enjoyed this recipe for so many occasions and holidays I cannot even count them! My easy garlic green beans with lime recipe have been a staple for holiday after holiday.

Ingredients
  

  • 2 lbs. Fresh green beans trimmed
  • 1/3 cup Fresh Italian parsley
  • 1 tbsp Rosemary snipped and fresh
  • 2 tsp Shredded Lime peel
  • 1 tbsp Fresh Lime juice
  • 1-2 cloves Garlic
  • 2 tbsp Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • 1/3 cup Hazelnuts (toasted or chopped - optional)

Instructions
 

  • Bring a large saucepan of water to a boil.
  • Add 1 tablespoon salt and green beans.
  • Cook green beans until crisp-tender, 3  to 4 minutes.
  • Drain and immediately plunge into ice water. Let sit in ice water for 3 minutes or until cooled. Drain well and set aside.
  • In a small bowl combine parsley, rosemary, lime peel and juice, and garlic. Set aside.
  • In a 12-inch skillet heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Add beans. Cook, stirring occasionally. 3 to 4 minutes or until heated through. Season with Salt and Pepper.
  • Stir in the lime mixture and hazelnuts (optional). 
    Serve with Lime Wedges Serves 8
